Re: My 81' Project

Started a little body work. I am shaving everything on the car so I neede to fill in the trim spot in the center.

I worked at MAaco about 4-5 years ago for maybe 6 months (terrible management). I had never done more than sand and paint before then and I watched a few of the body guys do their thing. So this is really I believe my 3rd time working with bondo and first time working with bondo glass.

Looks like all is well so far. I have noticed I tend to lay a little to much on but practice makes perfect. Just a little more sanding work I make myself do.

Heres a few pics.

Old housing cut to fit the gauges in. Still thinking of a better cleaner way to mount them but that will come later.

KBS Rust treatment. My floor pan had some surface rust on it (no holes) so I went at it with a wire wheel then the rust treatment as folllows.
Scrub with the cleaner and keep wet for 10 min, rinse, spray on etch and keep wet for ten min, rinse, brush on sealer and let it cure.

KBS painted on the floor pan. I really wish I would have used a good camera and got a pic right when we painted it on and a few days later after it was all cured. The self-leveling capability of this stuff is crazy. I don't think you could see a single brush mark after.
