I believe the 305 had between 140 and 190 hp depending on model at something like 4000 rpms. Low rpm due to lack of airflow. it's not a powerhouse by any means
Right. Not looking for this 305 to be super crazy but wanted a little more pep and rumble to it since I'm stuck with it for a little while.

Should have. I had a 305 with flat top pistons and a RV cam. It felt pretty peppy for 1997. In today's standards, it would be slow.
I know they arent anything special but for what it is, she spins the tires. I just need something to cruise with until i get a builder. Just was curious if anyone had any issues with changing a cam with stock internals. I know when people have done it in a dirt car they blow the 305s up almost everytime.
