Hi guys,

I'm putting an olds 403 in my 1985 442 and was curious as to any recommendations about my build especially more on what camshaft to put in. It'll get .024 keith black pistons, edelbrock 7111 intake (I'll port match it), edelbrock aluminum heads, 1.6:1 roller rockers, holley 750 carb, electic fuel pump and of course new bearings and timing set ect. It should yield a compression somewhere in between 9.5:1-10:1. It is intended to be a fun street motor and not going to be revved over 5500-6000. I'll use the 200r4 transmission at least for now and i've got 3.73 gears. From what I was finding I was thinking about using Lunati 60802LK or COMP Cams CL42-222-4 camshafts. They both seem to be comparable, does anyone have a pereference or any better cam choice. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Craig

I'd talk to a knowledgable Olds builder ( look on the Realoldspower forum ), but off the top of my heads, that 802 Voodoo should be pretty darn nice on a street motor. The next step up Voodoo might even be better for your application`, but that depends on your actual CR and other factors. I'd aim for a CR around 9.5 myself, but I'm not a 403 expert.

I'm running the dinky 800 Voodoo in my build, but would of liked to have gone with the 801 and a hair more compression.
