I get it. I'm totally beyond my understanding, and grasping at straws at this point.

Keep at it brother, it’s a tuning game. Part of what makes it “fun”. 🤣
Also why I got out of the dedicated inline track stuff - fun, but very hard on parts and incredibly frustrating at times. I’ve since realized I get more enjoyment out of building sh*t, and having an extremely capable all around performing missile that excels at not just one thing, but does almost everything very well.

agreed x10. Some method of timing regard on the hit - MSD box or something - is my vote as well.

This thing is haulin' butt at the big end of the track. A 1.5 60' will be night and day.
 
Bickel tells us that if you drive the tire down too hard by way of the IC location, it tends to fold up the sidewalls, which in turn makes for poor surface contact. Opposite to this, if insufficient force is applied to the tire, it will simply spin without accelerating the race car.
Sounds exactly like my problem. Time to dive in....
Edit: just for sh*ts and giggles, I checked the FSM and found this that contradicts the whole theory
