Then, I got stupid all of a sudden. I can't remember if there were shims under the throwout. Luckily, I found a cryptic azz note to myself. 
Smack it, I'm near Frederick, but not a big car show guy. There's a handful I hit for various reasons. We might not get any this year I've seen a few cancel already.

I decided to switch gears for a minute because installing the trans is going to take coffee in the morning/Pantera on the jams, Zen like energy and focus, perfect for a Saturday. So, I decided to focus on the taillight rewire. I converted to LED a few years ago
and while they worked, they worked well, just not reliably. I ordered a 10pk of the finest Ding How Metripak knockoffs as a cure (the yellow ones). I originally had busted off 1157 bulbs as adapters; that's what we're "fixing".

I soldered new wires on and gutted the pressed in socket with a small hammer and drift, then put the connector on. Almost done with this one; only 3 more to go!
