I've seen those plates before. Is that a stock mounting setup? I usually see those in swaps.
No, definitely not stock. One of the stories about 455 blocks being weak is stress on the main caps near the motor mounts. Plus, the front frame is flimsy like a G, so this helps share the load. I run solid mounts, too, even though some say you only need north/south limiters. None of it does Jack Squat if it eats a valve, though!😡

You should see the new ones- 1" thick with relief window/girder structure, 100% bada$$. Kinda like the Procharger bracket. He's pretty good on a CNC

*Olds-mo-nerd fact: The above car is either a clone or someone replaced the bumper. IF the lower lights are red (Cutlass Supreme), there are reverse lights next to the plate recess. Standard Cutlii had the reverse lights under the tails (white, not red), and Supremes got the smaller reverse lights.
