Swap Part 2
Got some good pictures in again. Didn't do a whole lot other than stab the LS in.
Also, I bought an LS7 clutch kit because I thought I was slick; got a high HP clutch on rockauto for cheap right? Well, yes, except the throwout bearing doesn't fit. Now waiting on the CORRECT throwout bearing. Oops..

Anyway, on to the pictures:

Sidenote: This shifter handle is LOOOOONG! I got the T56 used, so that's what came with it. Can't complain

Stay tuned for more. Thanks for reading as always

drilling & tapping a hole for the alternator mount bracket. my iron block (lq4) did not have the threads in the spot for the bracket that I have.

This was absolutely terrifying for me to do. That being said, I was being guided through this process the whole time, so I didn't screw it up (since I'm using a tap, isn't this technically a pun?).

the wiring disaster is temporary; i have a battery cable that is too thick and about two feet too long. I've been making a lot of weird/stupid mistakes because I'm learning with this swap.

Swap Part 5 1/2 - It starts!!
~early November 2020

Or at least, it started this time.

I managed to get the engine to run, with most of the harness installed. As soon as I plugged in one of the o2 sensors, it stopped sending spark to the coil packs. I could not figure out why it stopped working.

For about 3 weeks I spent a ton of time diagnosing the harness, reading voltages, googling a million questions, turning the key on, off, battery on, off, phone a friend x1000, OBD2 scanner all day long. By the end of it I ended up deciding that my harness was too janky to mess with and just chucked the whole thing.

I mean I got it for free with the motor, what the heck. Learned a ton about automotive wiring in the process too.

So anyway, I bought a harness from BP automotive.

Did I mention I have a penchant for spending money?
