I took it to the coin op carwash first to get all the heavy stuff off, then brought it back to the house and gave it more thorough cleaning and waxed it.

Have I mentioned I hate cleaning cars?

looks good! like how the cab lights came out.

Wow! You may hate but but you're good at it.

Thanks. I worked for a Nissan dealership for a while cleaning cars and after that job, I never wanted to clean another car again. But at the same time I hate driving dirty cars so it's really a struggle 😆

Thanks Darin, I was a nervous a wreck drilling that first hole in the roof, but they came out well, so it was worth it.

I got the truck inspected today, it was going to expire at the end of the month. We aren't allowed to inspect our own vehicles at work (stupid policy) so I bought lunch for one of my coworkers and had him do it. He didn't find anything wrong with it, not that I thought he would. It's emissions exempt (<5000 mile exemption), so it didn't have to pass a sniff test. Anyways it's good through next April 👍

I've been casually entertaining the idea of putting a CB radio in this truck. Mostly for the nostalgia. I think it had one before because there are two sets of holes drilled in the bottom of the dash, one I assume for a TBC and the other for a CB. I think a Cobra 29 would look pretty cool under the dash, especially with twin CB antennas mounted in the stake pockets. Done that way, it shouldn't require any drilling since I can reuse the holes that are already in the dash.

It's an idea that has been on my mind for a while. Maybe I've just been watching too many 70s trucker movies

Also, I need this piece-

The plastic trim piece on the side of the seat. As you can see, it is broken around the screw and keeps falling off. I tried to glue it several times but nothing will stick. It's like gluing to wax paper. If anyone sees one in a junkyard in the same gray color, grab it and I'll buy it from you. It has to come off of a 40/20/40 seat, driver's side. I can't find one around here.

A washer and longer screw painted grey is an option. I imagine like G bodies, common wear interior parts are hard to find.
