Finished up all (I think I got all of it) of the welding inside and underneath the cab.

I have a few patch panels to put on the outside and I can start doing some filler work. I also got the bed unbolted and slid back. I was hoping to fix the original bed, but when I slid it back, the pinch welds pretty much completely fell apart and the whole floor of the bed is so thin you can poke through it with a screwdriver just about everywhere.

So I took to Craigslist and found a (mostly) rust free replacement. Cost $480 delivered to me. Guy I bought it from said he brought it up from Texas for a friend who ended up not using it. It is 95% rust free. Much better than what I had. I have photos but they are too large to upload. More updates to come.

This is turning out well. I'm following this to educate myself - learning for free, from people that know what they're doing, is the best.;)

Thanks you all for the kind words and encouragement. It's a big project for sure, but I have a lot of help from a friend and slowly but surely it's coming together.

Got the old bed completely removed today. Also got a few patches made and burned in on the back side of the cab between the cab and bed.

Got the rear window out today, so I can fix the surface rust in the window channel.

I cleaned the front frame horns up with a needle scaler and painted them with SEM rust trap. I found a small rust pinhole on the passenger side frame rail, right under the AC box. I made a little plate/patch out of a piece of band steel and welded it in. It's a little ugly, but I'm not to worried about it.

Also got my new core support from Raybuck out of the box and on a stand. I'll be getting it scuffed and ready for paint soon.

Having some trouble uploading photos, so bear with me. Got the cab corners and door jambs mudded in today. Also found some old photos of the last time we fixed up this truck, dated 12/2010, a cool bit of history. Stay tuned for more.
