It's been more than 20 years since I called Waco my stompin' grounds, but those were some fun times.
I'm planning on selling my 66 chevy wagon and need a replacement. Long term plans, I'm not sure other than it stays an auto. For now, clean up the fuel system and carb and drive it. This one has the 305 chevy motor and 4 barrel. Front bench will probably go, i have a red factory leather split bench i can use or i may go buckets. Head liner needs work (normal), and all four door lower door panels are dry rotted(i know where i can get a set to replace them but will need to be painted). Swap steering boxes, f41 suspension it and maybe change rims. Its a rust free car out of brownsville tx. Otherwise, just drive it alot.Hot damn! That's a real beauty you've found. What are your plans for it?
Thanks, i too love the woodgrain and single headlights. I also love the carmine red paint and wh*re house red interior, lol. The woodgrain is shot, and it got worse when the temps dropped to 20degrees last week. I'll worry about that later.I also dig the woodgrain. Although, it looks like it needs to be removed and done over. I also prefer the single headlight header panel.
I'm in Apple Valley. I saw your wagon at the fairgrounds last year, you did a fantastic job on it.Very cool!
The more local wagons, the better... especially Olds wagons!
Where in the mpls area are you? I'm in Eden Prairie...
No, not this time. Cutlass is in storage, and while i love how it handles when towing, i prefer not to tow a 3500 lb car with a 3500lb car, the tail tends to wag the dog. Combine that with the wide tires and a snow storm back at hime woild be a recipe for disaster.Nice score. Did you pull it with the Cutlass?
Um, double double.Sure wish they would have had In-N-Out there when I was going to Baylor!
If its a manual, i leave the driveshaft in and place it in nuetral. With an auto and the trip is short, under 3 hours, i let the engine idle to lubricate the internals. But this time i pulled the driveshaft, it's a 24 hour roadtrip.Neat Project Good Luck with it when you flat tow it like that, do you remove the driveshaft?
When i first started Drag Racing, flat towing with a Tow bar was common, but we bolted on freewheelin hubs..
