A Minnesota G-body with no rust? That's a miracle in itself. When I lived in Michigan I saw plenty of G-bodies running around with the quarter panels rusted 25% straight off.
I would say keep the 455, but I'm in your position. I'm 17 but my cutlass has the 3.8 v6. I don't know if I could afford the gas for a 455 in my soon-to-be daily driver.
I'd agree with putting a 350 in it, just stay off the throttle 🙂
that 455 gives it a nice stance though, a bit lower in the back would look killer
Regal8601- As far as I know it spent most of it's life in Texas. Quite possible why theres no rust.
First thing I need for the car is a headliner and new door weather striping. Anyone have a link for a place I can get this stuff? I need something to tighten up the loose windows too.
I got a 509ci in a 87 442 that has gotten 17.0 mpg on a tank full. Here is where I would look for mileage; 200-4R overdrive transmission, get the locking torque converter to work, check out www.2004r.com for this, have your Q-jet carb tuned by a pro, have your timeing set and oh yea a clean air filter so she can breath in and maybe some headers so she can breath out.
