My Next Product For My Car :) Check Them Out

Just checked the edelbrock website, you can buy sequential multi port systems, including the manifold, for a grand more than this TBI set up. I'm sure that's an extra 1,000$ very well spent.

I don't see a benefit from this over a carb (if the amount of tuning is similar), except that it'll start spraying fuel on the first crank at start up... and this can be fixed by adding an inline electric fuel pump with a carb

Edelbrock kit is a much more involved install. It does not self tune you have to use a PC to set it up. And there is a tone of cables to hook up and run. I was looking at the Edelbrock kit awhile back but once I saw what it takes just to get the motor started I passed on that option pretty quick.

Ya, but you're talking seq. MPI vs. TBI... it's like comparing an old rochester two barell with a new double pumper. 1500$ will buy you nearly the world's greatest carburetor and without the hassle of hooking up any wires.

I know, I know. This is the same reason why I don't understand the people who buy a blackberry and use it as a cell phone.

Oh I hear ya. That is the other reason why I stayed with a carburetor and I put the money I save into other parts.

It is old technology but the concept is k.i.s.s. Thats the beauty of older cars imo. They are simple. With this kit you can upgrade to fi with the hassle of all the wiring. I also was looking into the edelbrock kit but the wiring scared me too. Most people want the reliabilty of fuel injection but when they really see whats involved to do the swap the stick to the carb.

That's just the thing though, why not buy a nitrous plate for your carb and hook the solenoid to another fuel line or split your main line. It'll be a helluva lot cheaper and just as easy with no wires. There, I just saved you 1200$ for fuel injection. Just make sure to get it all tuned by someone who knows what they're doin

Dang I never thought bout that. You seen it done before?

Yes, I've seen it done at a local rat rod show last year. Someone on here has done it in the past, I forget who it was though

The one I saw was a sick lookin set up and the guy said it was like a small shot of nitrous. Wish I had took some pics of it.

Injection

I think this cheap injection is better than you think. It is easier to tune on a dyno / rolling road (faster , you do not have to put it apart like a carb , to change jets and so on ) and you do not have to buy parts to tune it as you have to for a Holley or any other carb carb ! Ok , most of the engines will run with a carb right out of the box very well , with only a little bit of tuning , but will it have maximum possible horsepower ???
We spent hours on the dyno with my bug , 2332cc with 48mm IDA Weber carbs and full MSD ignition , to find max. Horsepower.
If you run a injection you see what happens , does it run rich or lean and so on.
What if you are planning to put a turbo on later ?? No problem with this injection 🙂
So , for cruising and having some fun , a carb is ok , but for more , i would use that one if it could handle some horsepower.
That is the only question , how much HP can it handle out of the box and will you have more HP by putting it on ??
