Need advise on starting my Monte up

For whom ever i was told to put 2 rubbing alcohol bottle into my gas tank before i start it with new gas as well has anyone ever heard of this or done it. Is it safe i was told its like an octane booster and also clean the carb at the same time.

I've never heard of that before. How full is the tank? If it's low I would just top it up with some fresh gas.

alcohol gets rid of any water that is in the gas...

The principle behind pouring alcohol in the gas tank is as follows: When alcohol is added to a gas tank with water and gasoline in it, the alcohol sinks to the bottom and absorbs the water, forming a combination that is no longer harmful to your car's engine. The water, gas, and alcohol are then burned up and eliminated from the tank.

However, a bottle of 70% rubbing alcohol already contains a good bit of water, making it a poor water absorber. In some situations, it may even cause harm to your vehicle.

Moonshine does the same if your that type. Lived in the backwoods of MIssissippi for 4 years and the country judge and local tire shop owner were nice enough to stock me up with as much as I wanted I'm not a drinker by the way. The stuff is awesome for all sorts of automotive and other uses

Thanks i will not try that im only going to add new gas and disconnect the power to the distributor crank it for a few second and then start it up.Ill be there tomorrow doing that thanks for the advise guys.

If I were you I would have taken about 4 months to start the car...it's cold up here and Florida looks real nice right now...

glad it all worked out ok..
