Those of you that have aftermarket dual exhaust, be it custom built or a kit, where and how do you have it attached to the body/frame? My mufflers will be right before the rear end, I was thinking of doing something with the stock transverse muffler brackets...

Some pictures would be helpful.

Thanks.

Hooker headers, 3.5" collectors taper reduced to 3" pipes , there is a hangar before and after the Mufflers, welded to the body and the frame, the Muffs are Dynomax Ultra-Flows. there is some floor pan massaging for pipe clearance. this setup has been on there for 15 years.
the pic isnt that great sorry.. im getting ready to make a new bigger exhaust soon with electric cutouts

Just a cheap kit from summit. flowtech long tubes into 2 1/4” pipes with thrush mufflers and an H pipe. Exit in front of rear axle. The floor pan has been modified and the trailer modified the mufflers for me.

On my 81 Malibu, my mufflers are in about the same place. I used those two angled braces on the rear crossmember to mount brackets that attached to the rear clamps on the muffler. The braces already have holes in them.

I have always used universal hangers that came off the rear of the mufflers. When I ran tail pipes I did that but added a small hanger off of the tail pipe where it runs along the frame behind the rear tires. The headers hold the front of it up so no need for anything there.

On my current setup I just use little tabs welded to my custom tips that mount on the frame and the front mounted to the headers.

On my Monte about .30 seconds in you can see where I used 4.5" EMT straps mounted to my raised rear floorboards to hold each muffler on.

On my 86' Regal I have Walker 442 exhaust and I used the factory rubber mounts and then I made some hangers to bolt on to the tailpipes to those factory mounts
