ok so i am buying a boat that has a engine that has froze and cracked.... i have the core engine coming with the boat and i think the crank and rods should still be good. i am guessing the heads are shot but i am not sure. now i have a set of heads off of a gen vi (6) 454 that i think are good. my question is if i find a older 454 block, use the crank and all of that from the old engine can i throw the gen vi heads on? i was told you can but there was either a gasket you had to use or you had to drill out a couple coolent holes on the block? anyone know anything about this? i am new to big blocks!
