You gotta be kidding! I know i saw a set on ebay with a Buy it now around $60 about 2 weeks ago! They looked to be in pretty good shape too! They were listed under 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix.

i guess its one of those things that sometimes can get no bida and then another time have 100 bids? i have tried selling stuff on ebay before for cheap and got no bids and then relisted later on and had it sell for double the buy it now price, its all about timing on ebay but if you ask me ebay sucks now, its not what it use to be!

Ebay is a great place to bargain hunt if you know what you are doing and are willing to spend the time shopping and sniping. I have certain things I do as "Buy It Now", and some that I do on auction. I typically will watch things for a few days if I don't need them, just to see where they go, then bid only in the last 10 seconds. If I get it, great. if not, oh well. I did that with an iPod I bought for $3.50, as well as a few other small items.

How many different styles of T-tops did G-bodies have? I have a set off an 83 GP but i dont know if they are the same.

There were if I understand it all correctly, 3 types...

1. The factory "Fisher" tops, the most common. These are all over ebay all the time, just keep searching and you'll find what you need. The seals etc. are all available aftermarket I think. These go all the way to the front of the roof, and the inside should have plastic trim around the openings, so that there is only a headliner in the back. Held in with pins, sometimes they'll have locks. I'm not sure if these are the same for *all* years or not, but I think so. They might (should?) also have a thin trim edge around the glass where the C&C glass does not.

2. The Cars & Concepts aftermarket tops, not so common. The easiest way to tell these is the ~3-6" of sheet metal still in the roof behind the windshield (I'd have to measure it!). They're shorter than the factory ones, and held in by clamps instead of pins. No special interior trim except for the four corner clamps and a plastic rail where you had to roll the headliner up into to finish the install.

A place in MO called the sunroof doctor had bought all of C&C's old stock when they went under, but I don't know what if anything they've got left. The glass turns up on ebay from time to time, and I've only ever found *one* of these cars (sans glass) in a yard, and the trim bits left with me (after drilling out all the rivets  :evil🙂

I've got these on my GP btw. Check the photo album under technical/howto for pics of putting in a new headliner and trimming it out for the tops.

3. I've never seen these "in the wild" but there was a "Hurst Hatch" kit available early on (like '78-'79) which you could put in to give you the same style of top like you'd find on a '77 Grand Prix/Monte. Search the site here, there was a guy with one of these kits a while back.

ebay use to be people like you and me selling used stuff and now its all companies selling new stuff. plus the fees from ebay and paypal are horrible and everyone is out to scam you it seems. i sold some 6x9s a few months back and the guy claimed i sold him blown speakers so after a paypal dispute and negative feedback even after i offered a refund as soon as i recieved them back, so i get them back and they work perfect! and now i have my one and only negative feedback! and thats after at least 500+ transactions on ebay.
