its just a regular 350 block. if i were you i would just go buy a dart, or world products block. if you get a junkyard one you will have as much stuck in machine work as you would a brand new block.

try cncmotorsports.com i got there 383 forged 11.1 compression short block and i'am real happy with it 😀 the short block is rated at 750 horse power if you want to go that high i'am running stock votrec heads and 268 comp cam and it's all readdy run 11.50

the car is in mint stock condition now. i'm not in a rush 2 swap the motor. but my next question is if an all motor set up better for a daily driver? if so which block the 350 or 383. anything over 400hp is ok but 500 is the goal (in theory). next will be the rest of the drivetrain. but i do want a setup that will hold up to daily driving. i dont race to often but i do play on the expressway. i might get up to 130mph every once in a while. mostly i drive around 80-100mph. i've been thinking about a gbody for a while now so this will take me a while to complete, mabey a year or two to have the complete car done. but this aint gonna be a trailer b*tch. i just want a bad *ss street car that will blow these tuner guys away. i live in miami so everybody drives a ****in j* car. very few v8's down here unless they got 24inch rims on the car but i'm a driver!!! not a show off. so is the 383 good for over 400hp all motor?
I HAVE A 383 ROLLER MOTOR WITH 547 HP ALL MOTOR

put a 454 in it

If it were me,I'd put a 454 in it.You can easily make 500HP on pump gas and drive it without much hassle. With cast iron heads you can run 10.5to1 on 93 octane, and with aluminum heads as high as 11.25to1 on 93 octane.Maybe higher if you run like a 270/280 duration @ .050 cam, they'll bleed off cylinder pressure.Mine has 252/263 @.050 duration, and I run cast iron closed chambered heads. My motor makes 10.5 to1 compression & runs fine on 93 octance gas.
Had it out all weekend probably put 200-300 miles on my fresh 468.
Motor runs great & pulls like mad!
Forgot to mention with a motor like this you can use 3.73's or 4.10's and still cruise with no trouble. My car has a 3.73 posi 7.5 in it,but I just got my 12 bolt finished over the weekend with 4.10's.I also run a turbo 400 with a 5600 Coan converter, believe it or not the thing cruises great!

well i am biased for a big block. i already have one in mine that dynoed at 625hp/610tq with 10.2 to 1 compression on pump gas, and with the aluminum heads it still weighs the same as a stock small block. dont let everyone fool you saying big blocks weigh too much!
