I agree with 88Hurst/Olds.....car does belong in a museum. H/O's with low mileage will sell for top dollar....but the standard car is just not gonna bring that kinda cash unless a buyer just has to have it, no matter what the cost. I would rather buy a well used 1970 442 with that kinda money.

Dont sell the car. Its only worth about $12,500 right now and all you have to do is chill and the value will double in 5-10 years.
hes not selling...he's thinking about buying.....and in ten yrs, it may be worth 25k, but the value of the dollar might have more to do with that number than the market value of the car.

Thank you all for the replies. I have until Spring before I have to make up my mind as the potential seller is gone to Florida until April. He also has a number of other cars parked "new" in heated storage. I was kind of hoping the general figures would of been closer to $25 grand plus or so as I think that is what the sellers bottom line will be. I am not thinking of driving it I am thinking of simply holding onto it and flipping it in another 20 yrs or so. The seller also just sold a "new" 1987 Grand National and a Buick GNX. I believe the Grand National went for $50'000 cash. Sounds high I know but it is hard to find anything like that here in Ottawa, Canada.

No doubt, a low mileage GNX is definately worth 50g's.... but not a GN...and as for the Olds, I cant see anybody paying more than 15g's tops. Best value online I can find is about 8900.00 for an excellent condition 1984 H/O...Which means either low mileage/garage kept, or totally restored. You could surely add 50% more for a very low mileage and original condition, that would only take it up to 13,500.....and thats for a H/O, which are rarer than hens teeth when compared to the rest of the Gbody gang.

I see molested 442's /Cutlasses go for $10000 plus all time in pa if in premo shape .. I was offered way more by local collector for my 86 442 with 19000 miles in need of clear coat redo . And he has over 100 rare cars like an original 60's 409 impala with aluminum front that escaped the drag strip.

There r people looking for them . If want a ""new "" car like that you will have to pay for it . And dont think of driving it .

Thank you all again for the replies. I am gonna approach the seller again in the Spring when he returns and make a cash offer around $15 ish I think. Maybe he will come to his senses and realize this kinda car is not gonna yield mid to high twenties...atleast not at this point in time. Yes, $50 grand is a lil insane here for a Grand National (even a "new" one) but even a decent one here goes for $25 plus. I had one hell of a time finding the cars I do have. It is difficult here to find Monte's, Old's or GN's without them being molested with mods, insane mileage/poor upkeep or rust being a issue with our Canadian Winters.
