got new blower motor from murrays and plug it in and it's not working it's heating up my resistor red hot... and should the fan be counter clock wise, what is causing this anyone know

it was working with a bad motor earlier, and took to a shop to see why it wasnt getting hot air and why it wasnt blower hard, and he said bad motor and short in the line so i paid 60$ to fix a short and worked with the old motor but it's not with the new,i tested it with a 12v battery and the motor works great just not on the car motor dont even turn

got heat now!

got awesome heat now.... had to get a new blower motor again and new resistor also i wanna kid my own a$$ and payed a shop 60$ to fix a short that was in a connector that was very visible and all they did was slice/crimp for 60 something i could have done if ijust would of check the plug... pissed about that

$60 isn't that bad considering that the labor rate in most shops is over $100 per hour. Sometimes it's just worth it to have somebody take care of it for you, even if you do have to part with a few bones. Especially when it's too damn cold to dick around with it in the driveway for a day or two... At least it works now.

I would have gladly paid $60 to find a short....I've spent hours trying to track down a short...$60 is cheap and just because it turned out to be visible after they found it doesn't mean you would have found it easily....if you don't like the repair they made you could always improve it with some solder and shrink tubing...

I've spent hours trying to track down a short...
same here, it's one of the worst jobs as a mechanic. it can be 6hrs to track down the exact spot and 5 minutes to fix it
