Not at all just pull what screws and clips I have to and pull bumper out a liittle and out comes the headlight takes 15 mins or less

What is worse, is that Subarus eat head lights. They even produced a Service Bulletin advising using Long Life bulbs. Lots of angry customers wondering why the lights go out several times a year. The DIY'ers are even more pissed. How the hell do you bury a common maintenance item like that? Yeah, my old cars are looking pretty good lately...........And yet, on my '05 Sunfire two screws and the whole headlight assembly pops right out. EZPZ. Oh wait- that's an OLD CAR now!

The Mazda's do as well. I finally got pissed off and ordered LED's. No issues since.

If it makes you feel any better, on my 2015 Outback (legacy wagon on stilts) the bulbs are really easily accessible and easy to change. So apparently those Japanese engineers recognized the issue and fixed it for the next generation.

Now on my '95 F150 the headlights themselves are easy, but the front turn signal bulbs are a royal pain in the *ss.

My 2008 Sierra is no better. You have to pull the grille and bumper cover, then pull the headlight assembly to change a bulb. Terrible design.

2016 Tahoe suffers from the same. I replaced a light bulb myself after the dealer quoted me $150, not counting the bulb. 1 hour later and a few bruises
, it was done but WOW🤮

It's never always new stuff.
Had a 1988 Japanese sedan that you had to pull a drive axle out to change out the alternator.
You could get the alt loose, but no way to remove it without pulling a front axle.
I didn't cry when that burned itself up in my driveway....
