we stripped out the motor

started sanding down the body

will share some pics of the floor

also removed the vinyl roof to look for any hidden rust, luckily no major damage

I am stunned both of you are registered on the Forum. Wish my wife had more interest than,"Does it have four wheels and does it go?"
Excellent idea making progress while the kiddoes are small. That's my other problem. Mine are in between napping in cradle and big enough to help safely.
Too bad you have both latitude and longitude problems in finding parts. But you've come to the right place for advice.
Under all that dust, it looks like the interior is is relatively good shape.
Carry on! Looking forward to seeing you make something out of nothing!

Well have to say thanks for the warm welcome and for the advice soon to be given ... and well yes i am very fortunate to have a wife that shares the same interest ... although its been a fight between us both in regards to her loving ford and myself loving chev .... But slowly i am getting her to love the chev brand .... And well we have set a goal of having this car done within a year so it should be done before our boys 3rd Bday .... As for him ... he helped daddy sand the rear quarter last night while mommy was stripping the interior .... great lil helper .....

As you all can see in the week that we have had the car loads of work has gone into it .... in between working on clients cars and late nights .....

as for the parts we knew going into this project we were gona have some issues with parts .... but overcome them soon enough tx to this site and the parts site and well ebay as well .....

SSN696 I am one of a kind they say  love working on cars, Im rarely found in the kitchen and get bored with other women and their "blabbering"

one thing related to cars I cannot do is paint, well anybody can paint but I have blatantly refused to touch a paint gun  .............. BUT back to the car ......

we were discussing the vinyl roof last night and Im unsure what route to take - back to vinyl or maybe something that will last longer but still look factory

Any suggestions/ideas/advice guys?

okay so Friday we started stripping the interior and a few of the exterior bits. This is where I discovered a few missing pieces that were broken off below the steering wheel

firstly we found this behind one of the door cards

the back window just taking a few pics so I can remember what went where 😀

so this is the piece below the steering which has broken off - obviously its missing so will have to fix it or get a complete d-board imported

just the padding behind the plastic trim that I wanna upgrade

and here is the floor, some idiot painting it with red patio paint

so with the dashboard and the plastic trim now completely removed I can start cleaning, recovering and fix it and the dashboard will get the same treatment

as for the body, the floor can now be manhandled with some wire brushing and then painted with protective rubberizing

I am training the little ones, though. Would you believe a three-year-old can power a 750-pound drivetrain with Dad's engine hoist?!?

im in 2 minds what to do next. the entire boot is now filled with all the interior trim and exterior bits and pieces. I have thrown away all the junk like the interior floor carpeting the roof lining and the vinyl top that I ripped off.

Perhaps i will start with fixing all the interior trim as they do need fixing as some of them are cracked or pieces were broken off

okay so started with the floor of the pontiac so we can seal it asap

Just sanded down part of the floor and painted it matt
