Hi everybody! After spending the last few days lurking around here, and soaking up lots of great info, I figured it was time to go ahead and post.
So I have an '83 Hurst Olds that I originally bought in 1995 as a 17 year old kid. It was my first car and had around 67,000 miles on it. Well, 3 days after I bought it, some chick failed to yield while hauling *ss down an icy street and couldn't stop, and nailed my left rear. I know I shouldn't have been driving it in that weather but I was just excited to have it and it was in Montana, so its always like that. Of course I was heartbroken, and the car spent the next 6 months in the body shop getting fixed. (Long story - friend of my dad, took the insurance money and then sat on it forever.) A while after i got it back, a street sweeper scraped against it turning the corner in front of my house. Got that fixed, then my girlfriend rear-ended someone with it. Anyways, when I joined the Army in '96, I left it in my dad's shop, where it's been ever since. He's taken care of it and kept her running for 19 years, and I finally decided to bring it home last summer. Still less than 70,000 on the odometer.
Now that I actually have the means to take care of her right, I've got a few plans for her. Nothing crazy, I'd just like to build her into the car GM should have made. I picked up a 403 I plan to do a mild build on and drop in, as well as suspension/steering/brake upgrades, keeping all the original part, of course. I'll definitely be looking for some advice in the near future as I get to work on her.
