Well heres the rundown on my car its a 79' Cutlass with what I'm told is the small Olds V8 car runs like crap. I got the car with out it running I tore into it and found the cam gear for the timing chain was pretty much rounded off. I replaced that set the timing and the car runs now but is just flat out GUTLESS!!!! I put new cap rotor plugs wires but still Seems like it has a bad miss and has no power Car is all stock any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.
Back to the car I got it from a friend and as soon as I saw it I loved it, it's got buckets up font with floor shifter all Factory still rolling on the color matched rims.
Ive added a steering wheel out of my buddies 85' Z28 that he is scrapping, also what all of of said Z28 would swap over to my 79' Cutlass? Like Sway bars brakes etc? I'll post pics tomorrow when its Daylight This forum is quite cool thanks for all you guys supporting it

Welcome to the forum. Any pics of your cutlass? As for the 260 olds v8, it's more of a dependable motor made for fuel mileage, not power. I'd drop a 350 or 403 olds in it..why? Because it would be a straight swap and I'm and olds guy. Lol. As for the camaro, the sway bars and the rear end gears would be about it. also the fast ratio steering box. But if you're car happens to be a Calais model, it already has it.

Yea its a Cutlass Cailis so the front sway bar and rear sway bar will swap over sweet I'm gonna yank them tomorrow, How hard is it to throw a sbc350 in the Cutlass? Also I pulled a 4barrel intake manifold and carb off a 88' Cutlass will those bolt up to my 79' V8?

Yes the sway bar will work, but the one on camaro may or may not be any bigger since u got a Calais. The Calais came with the big front sway bar, fast ratio steering, rear sway bar, stiffer springs, and sport int. I'd get the rear end gears, they are likely better than yours. No, the intake won't fit, the 260 olds is a design of its own. For a Chevy motor, u need frame motor pads, motor mounts, move fuel lines, move battery and power wires, Chevy transmission.

weird i checked and my car doesnt have a sway bar front or rear but it says Cutlass Calais on the door inside. could someone have taken them off

Door panels could've been changed out very easily at some time and or emblems changed out.All the cutlass came with a front bar, but the lower end cutlass and or w/o the f41 pkg came with a tiny front bar and no rear bar. sounds like someone took them off at some point! You'll need gbody front sway bar mounts and end links to put on that Camaro bar on your cutlass, if those are gone 2?

i checked and the brackets are in the front but no swaybar weird if you ask me. i also checked the Camaro and the rear diff has a tag that says use limited slip oil only so theres a plus atleast i get a limited slip. i checked the Camaro for its little id tag to find the rear gear ratio but it was no where tobe found. thank you for the help so far

so minor update. i put in the springs out of the Camaro into my Cutlass the rear dropped about 3 inches and the front a little more then 3 and wow car actually handles better now with sway bars aswell. i decided to pay a shop to install my 3.40 LSD it was beyond my knowledge but the shop said theyd show me how 🙂

A 3" drop seems like a ALOT. Either way, you should really get an alignment.
