mmk... looks a lot like the shape of my regal lol... this is where i started with my car.
which that may not look to bad but there are a lot of bad parts of the car.
what I would do:
1, pull it out into the open
2 pressure wash it from every angle, open the hood, tape off the carborator very well and remove the battery if one exsist, wash under the car and check for bad rust.
3 sand down (escpecailly non-replaceable(roof, rear quaters)) rusty areas on the body and primer over it, doesnt have to be perfect
4 air up the tires if possible, and if not, go get some used ones so you can at least roll it back and forth when you need to move it.
5 Take out the seats and carpet and sand down any rusty areas in the floorboards and primer over them.
6 from there you can then start on the motor, I personatly would remove the motor from the car, replace ALL the (water, fuel, oil) pumps, replace the freeze caps on all the sides, paint the entire motor the color of your choice, put a edlebrock performer cam, intake, and carborator on it and replace all the gaskets with new ones. Get a (realitively) cheap set of headers, new spark plugs and wires and distributor cap and rotor.
hope this gives you a starting point, This is where my car is at right now, and ive done all the work myself as a 16 year old, its not that hard, just be pateint and don't worry cause the first time you get it cranked up after replacing the motor is a great feeling.
here is my motor before and after
the small block chevy before
small blck chevy after
and here is how my motor sits now.
