Well I was out at my wrecking yard looking at front clips that didn't pan out. However on my way back out something big shiny and black caught my eye on the far side of the row. I went to investigate and it was a black Grand Prix GTP. Inside was a set of very nice black leather bucket seats with 3 motors on the driver side.

Well I ran up asked them how much and after a little wheeling and dealing I was driving my truck back into the yard to go pick them up.

The passenger side is pretty much perfect, and the driver side has a couple loose stitches that is it. I need to clean them up as they are quite dirty (just dust from the yard). I'm actually thinking of going back and picking up the back seat so I can use the material to recover my back seat 8) .

Whatcha think?

Look comfortable... when are they going in your carr??

I will more than likely do a test fit next week. Though the car is still very much in the beginning stage of the build so they won't be in permanent for quite sometime.

I will need to change the rails and all as well.

nice 8)

I think those tracks will bolt down to the G body chassis without serious work. I am using a Baby Caddy 3 motor track on the passenger's side of my car and it fits with minimal changes. You will probably want to replace the side trim and add the switch wiring from the donor car you use to make that work, but that is about it. Read my passenger's power seat thread for the info I have so far. I will probably do a proper conclusion to it once it is complete. The info I have is for a split bench, but the mechanics are the same as for your seats. You may also have to add the recliners to those seats, but I am thinking that they are a generic part. Meaning, you can take some of them off a 2 door GM anything from the same era, like maybe a Camaro or Cavalier. That way, you can tilt them forward for back seat access. I am assuming they are 4 door seats. If they are 2 door, disregard that...

As for the back seat, definitely get it! See if it can be made to fit your car as is, or maybe you can use the G body framing and hog ring the foam and upholstery down to it. I would also look at the console and see if it can be adapted to your car.

To clean them, I would just try a damp sponge and a towel. After that, treat them with some leather conditioner and let it soak for a few days.

D'oh I didn't even think about the whole leaning forward more for back seat access  Yeah they are from a 4 door car so they only go vertical not forward.

I was actually thinking of exactly what you said as far as the back seat. It is wider than the Cutty I believe, so I think cut a couple inches out of the middle glue the foam back together and then attach it to the seat frame from the Cutlass. Then comes the tasking of reducing the width of the cover material to match the new size but my uncle knows a good interior person.

As for conditioning the seats I need to order a new tub of Pecards (I do leather work) and that stuff works miracles conditioning leather.

I actually came across that problem when I was thinking of adapting a set of Mercedes Type W124 seats to my car. They are comfortable, and the material (MB Tex) is almost indestructible. Sadly, MB never made a 2 door with those seats as the W124 never came as a 2 door. The W123 did, so did the W126, but not the W124. So, I don't yet have my bucket seats. I want Recaros from the 80's, but so far have not turned up anything worth messing with. I may just buy new seats instead. Then again, I kinda want to try and sew my own upholstery too. Anyhow, what were we talking about again? Oh yes, the GP Seats! Remember that GM does a lot of things as generic parts used over many car lines. There may be trim pieces and such that will interchange with other cars and make your life much easier if you look for them. That is how I came up with a lot of the ideas I used in my car, including the dual power seats.

Yeah I am sure they used similar seats in a 2 door but these are what I found. Besides most of the time its just me and the girlfriend in the car anyway. However it would make putting things in the back seat much easier.

Oh funny story when I yanked the cross brace bars off the regal there was a spare set of keys wired to them.

My girlfriend might object to me picking up fat chicks. Well neither of her sisters are all that slim but my GF is just flat out tiny

Here is my GF when we were clearing out all the weeds from under the hood of the Olds.
