Hi GBodyforum.com

I recently traded for an '84 Regal T-Type, at least I think it is. It has T-tops, digital dash, GN Interior, 355 V8 swap w/work done, freddie brown 3spd and very good condition. Only rust is by the passenger door. I never had a G-body before but always admired them. My first car model was a GN so when I seen this I couldn't pass it up. I was hoping you guys can help me with anything I should look for or be aware of? How many were made? Also, how much do you think its worth. I believe the V8 swap would bring the price down some but not sure how much. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Looks like a T-type with GN wheels and maybe some blacked out or GN trim. The sbc didn't hurt the value of an 84 Ttype much. It may actually appeal to more people than the older style non turbo Buick V6 so while it may not have changed its value it may have a bigger market. If they still have the old 109 block and turbo crank they are worth some money. You might see if you can snatch em if you can get them for next to nothing. The SEATS! If those are factory leather lier siegler or whatever seats they may have some good value all by themselves. Check with Brian Weaver at Gbodyparts he can probably tell you what they may be worth. Car looks good you will get lots of thumbs ups cool car etc comments at stoplights and gas stations etc.

Thanks a lot for the info. What do you think it would be worth? I got it for $4k.

Nice looking car.

But in my opinion A T-Type with a SBC is just another Regal.

Does the dash work?

Yes, absolutely everything works that I can tell including the power antenna. Everything except the a/c and power driver seat which another motor came with the car.

Don't worry too much about the v8. They made t-types with the olds 307 in it and i would take a 350 of any brand over that turd any day of the week. If the car is otherwise complete including the rear i would say you did ok. The good thing is it has the potential to be whatever you want it to be, so you can always keep an eye out for an intercooled engine and swap a turbo 6 back into it. The hydroboost is also gone if it is in fact a real gn. Either way, you either got a good deal on a gn missing the motor and trans or a good deal on a regal with lear siegler buckets and interior as a bonus! Check what the rear axle is. If it is a 8.5 you have a good starting point with that car in my opinion.

Nice car. Nothing wrong with a Regal at all.
