There comes a point in every project that you just need to sit back and admire the work that’s been put into it and today is one of those days. All the metal work is done except for two small patches in the B pillar and some plug welds on the A pillars. But it actually is starting to look like a car again!

I've been wondering how the car has been coming, and just watching all the work you've put in makes me both glad I didn't buy it and that you did. All that hard work would be so far beyond what I'd have been up for these days that I wonder what the cars fate would have been... and that's to say nothing about the caliber of the work you've been accomplishing.

I know it hasn't been easy for you with everything else you've had go on, but, great job saving this one and taking the time to make it as correct as you have. Not many would take the effort to source a 4.1 instead of just following the herd instinct to ruin it with an ls swap.

If I wasn’t so passionate about the cars I really don’t think it would have had a good outcome this car has came such a long way. Looking back I’m not sure if I want to tackle another one of this magnitude again it will definitely be a while before I do another like this. Was just talking to a friend of mine I think it’s been over two years since I acquired the 4.1, hopefully this winter it will get dropped into place.

Shameless plug here, although I will say nice looking car. If you run into a fox brother who can use a set of the discontinued holley/flowtech polished t304 stainless shorty headers for the fox, new in sealed box, let me know. I'm without a notchie fox currently and have 2 pairs left if my parts stockpile. I doubt I'll build 2 more of these cars. I'd be willing to listen to reasonable offers on one, or, maybe even both, sets.

I sorta plan on trying to get an 88 someday. I married into a younger generation than I (mostly a good thing, except sometimes.....) and it'd be a nice present to give the wife a done fox one day. But, jury is out whether I'd mod it again or keep that one stock.

I’ve thought about getting a v8 fox but idk I like the SVO for its uniqueness and it’s pretty quick and peppy for what it is, I don’t know many fox owners lol

To be honest, these days it's a labor of love and for the novelty. You can't build a 5.0 fox to compete with what you can buy a s197 coyote for, let alone other options.

If you like the sound, the style, the looks and the nostalgia, it makes sense. And, given your pace car and GN efforts, like me, I think you get that those things have value.

The 5.0 needs a compression bump to make power along with heads, rotating assembly / internals, then all the normal intake/cam/fuel delivery etc. And even then you want to stop by 10.25-10.5:1 CR on a stock block. For all that time and money you're into the low 400s and running premium gas. To make more you're looking at a blower or something and have questions about borrowed time on other parts. Maybe you build the engine to be nos friendly. But really, it's best suited for a cruiser to enjoy because you like them more than anything else.

10 or 15 years ago the foxbody era 5.0 was a platform that, performance-wise, was still more of a contender than it really is nowadays, at least in my opinion. Not saying there aren't guys running around with 331 motors and blowers pushing 700+ hp, there are.

No you can’t but I’m not really interested in having a crazy fast or modded car, I enjoy them for what they are. The money value to me meh it is what it is I enjoy them because I grew up with them. So many have been modded it’s refreshing to see a nice original car or a very light modded car.

Burned the lead out of the seams today and got the B pillars cut and repaired. Aside from some finish welding to pretty a couple things up the metal work is done! Finally
