Sweeeet. Wildmani, can't wait to see the car with those rims on! Hope you get em bro.
:friday:

I think a set of Pontiac Rallye II's would look killer on there. More so than Chevy Corvette rallyes. Or even a set of early '70's Pontiac Honeycombs.

Hey G-Body_vet, the picture of your 4 door was one of the ones that helped me decide on those rims! I'd been creeping some photos on the site to look for wheel examples. I've thought about looking fo used ones, but I'm a little worried that I could end up getting warped ones or something. I do like the fact that the ones pictured on your 4 door have the black in them, the new ones look more chrome all the way through. I don't want too much chrome on the car, just enough to accent it. Are the ones pictured 14" or 15"? And also, what width did you use? I want to go as wide as I can without getting into rubbing issues. I figured the 15"x7" would work.

Well, figured since it was the long weekend I'd spend some time stripping the interior out of the LeMans, basically because I can do that for no cost lol! Wasn't expecting everything under the carpet to be perfect, found some small rough spots in the front floor pans (no big deal, I can get replacement panels). What really concerned me was the driver's side rear seat area where the floor pan meets the wheel well. I knew it might be a bit of an issue because it didn't look great from the outside, but I never expected it to be as bad as it is. The whole seam pretty much from the bottom of the wheelwell all the way to the top is bad. I started poking a screwdriver at it and it was going through, not sure how far it leads into the trunk because it's full of interior parts and I was too discouraged to empty it and have a look. So now, after my prodding with a screwdriver I have pretty much no seam on that wheelwell and a hole by the seatbelt mount. I guess the bodywork is going to cost me a bit more than I anticipated

Oh well, I'm sure it can be repaired. Just not anytime soon lol!

On the bright side, I was able to put in the Monte SS rear end I bought a while ago in over the summer! And instead of the '69 L48 350 I was planning on putting in I think I might go with either a crate ZZ4 or a crate 350HO. Started pricing the build of the L48 and I think I might do just as well to buy a crate.

Ralley II wheels
Powder coated and straight. Used is just that, used.

I would like to suggest you keep your Pontiac, all Pontiac with a 400, 428 or 455. Just the brand loyalty in me. Chevys are nice but I am not into the sbc swap. Your car, your money. Great project. Keep the updates coming.

I know this is an old thread, but if you still care to know those wheels were 15x7. I think the tires were either 225 or 235 60's. You can't really beat the Wheel Vintiques rallyes either. Year One makes some nice snowflakes, honeycombs and cast rallye II's in 17's if that interests you.

Thanks guys! I think I'm sold on the pontiac ralley's, although it will be quite a while until I get to them lol! Now I just have to figure out whether I want to stay with 14" or go to 15", lots of time to think about it though.

Texas T, my car started out life with a SBC in it anyway, a 267. It's funny, all of the stuff I've read about the LeMans I've never seen that engine listed as an option. Must be because it's a made in Canada car?

Wildmani

I might have an extra set of 2+2 rims. I bought another one for parts down in your neck of the woods. Once I pick it up I will take some pics if you are interested.

Steve

Crazyliver, sure shoot me some pics when you get them. The wheels were probably going to be the last thing I was going to get but we'll see. I need to get the body and paint work done and get the interior and engine done too.
