Depends on what your preferred style is. They make custom wheels of all sizes. Throwing out a "what would you do?" opinion-seeking question will get you 400 different answers.
If you want a more street machine look, you could go with those 17" x 9" SSII/III style wheels. Like this:
They come with center caps and lug nuts, although they're the old SAE lug size. For metric lugs, like a stock G-body 82-up, you would need to buy some metric 12mm lugnuts, obviously.

Good looking car, I like the bigger wheels but I'm not really a chrome guy. I would think to stop the rubbing you are probably gonna have to go down in wheel size or get a lift for it. You will have the big wheel guys chime in who will really be able to tell you, but I am sure you will get a lot more flack for the wheels before they comment haha

Nice Cutlass. I currently have 235/60/R15’s on my 79 Malibu and they do not rub at all. A friend of mine has 245/30ZR20’s on his 84 Cutlass and he says they barely rub turning into a driveway at full lock.

Thank you. I know what I did I asked the question the wrong way I guess what I was trying to convey was I want to go as big as I possibly can but I still want to have meat because I'm in Michigan potholes are not our friends. I apologize for the confusion. And I think one of the guys actually answered it for me he said he got 17s so I'm looking at his car and I'm like okay maybe if I go 18 I can still have some nice meat and I can get a really nice chrome rim. On the other hand I was thinking about going old school with the hundred spokes with the half ninja star cap..Welcome.

Yeah the roads suck here, I went with 17" x 8.5" on my Regal but with 50 series tires to give me more rubber and fill up the wheel wells more and they ride great around here.
You will need all the brackets and accessories to replace the Olds V8, move fuel lines etc. You can build a 428 Olds SB, a new cheaper forged 5140 4" stroke crank is just coming available. The factory 2004R is a better trans than the 700R4. The GN 8.5" will bolt right in with it's larger factory drive shaft with your 2004R. The 700R4 requires a custom drive shaft. Most of us don't like the huge rim look, I get it is a style choice. I have factory 19's on my Challenger GT AWD. I went to a 18" rim, smallest rim to fit over the larger B9 brakes. I picked up Monza rims with nearly the same massive negative offset and studded Winter tires in the same 235 profile but a 60 vs 55 to help improve the ride over frozen ground. Height and width both need to be paid attention to, as well as back spacing for no rubbing situations. The 245/60R14 BFG TA's rubbed slightly on full turn with factory aluminum 14x6 zero offset rims on my 1988 Cutlass Supreme Brougham. Only a 25.6" tall with 10" section width, not huge by any means. Do some measuring and ask questions here before buying rims, a knowledgeable bunch here. Welcome.
