Hello everyone. Was looking for parts for my car and stumbled upon your forum. So onto introductions, my name is James and I have a disease, I am a gearhead. Anyways a little background I currently have a 79 LeMans sitting in my driveway feeling seriously neglected. This blue boat was the only car my Grandfather ever bought new and when he passed he left it to me, that was nine years ago. And the story begins. Well my Grandmother decided I was not ready for the car and let it sit and rot in her garage until the gas tank and radiator rusted through and made hell of a mess. And you will never guess who got that fun job to clean up. Anyways I then replaced the gas tank and radiator and the usual its been sitting items including all new brakes and tires. So I puttered around in the Buick 231 powered boat while nickel and dimeing it into something useful. Until one fateful night I went to leave for work in my truck and i guess cut it a bit to short. :blam: Hit the car in the drivers side front bad, ripped off the front fascia, destroyed the turn signal and dented the fender pretty good that was five years ago. Since then its been sitting waiting patiently for me to get back to it. Well the local big car show was a couple weeks ago and guess what they allow any car at least thirty years old. So of course that got me excited, and here I am by no means am i a noob at modding and customizing vehicles, I am however a noob when it comes to GM G-bodies so please have patience. I really would love to get my Grandfather car up and going again. Thanks for reading and taking your time to listen to my foolishness.

Welcome aboard James!
Glad to hear that you have renewed inspiration to fix up Grandpa's old Lemans. Just put the word out there for the parts you need, and I'm sure someone will come forward.
Lemans are cool cars, and not as high in production as a Chevy Malibu of the same body style. That also makes body parts harder to find. They're out there.
Good luck!

Welcome aboard, James.

Doug

Thanks for the welcome guys its appreciated. I am currently looking for the front fascia or bumper cover and the outer LH turn signal. I may also need a driver side fender but not sure till i get a body guy to look at it.
