Whats up? Im looking forward to picking your brains about g bodies. I just traded a 91 454ss to my Dad for a 79 Elky SS. I took it today to get an alignment and was informed the upper ball joints and idler arm are shot, so I promptly got on the horn with summit and ordered a front end rebuild kit, drilled slotted rotors, green stuff pads, braided brake lines and a couple of other goodies. Wish me luck! Next I tackle the trailing arms and then HP shocks.

Thanks Wildmani! Anyone out there know where to obtain the "cheverolet" that goes on the grill of a 79 Elky. The "80" is too big. I am also looking for the SS that goes on the grill, if there is one??? Thanks!

Welcome to the site. As for the '79 Chevrolet grill emblem, you may want to check out the National El Camino Owners Association (I'm a member there too) site. Just a thought.
