I was so caught up in the poor craftsmanship I didn't notice...
So what's correct, black or metallic argent?
I don't have my NOS tail lights on hand, at the shop.
Here's an NOS RH tail light:

ok. Here is the detail. I was in charge of getting the emblems made. Attached is MY ORIGINAL sample which was made in Taiwan,,,,not china. These emblems were supposed to be in production and we were supposed to buy them back from Brian. I have no idea what the part is that was sent to you. Here is the picture of the quality reproduction that I have always delivered...a quality piece. No one can argue with this opinion. If he went to china on his own and delivered this part....geesh. I dont see Brian doing this, as he picked apart this piece in the picture. Maybe an accidental sample was sent. Now granted these have been in my bag and have flown around the world a couple times and even the people saw this actual sample at the GM Nationals last year and couldnt tell it was reproduced, the way it should be.

The main thing that concerns me is the claim of being NOS GM emblems, when clearly they're not. Spreading so much misinformation around confuses people and anyone that thinks the ones that 88hurstolds got hold of were in any way even close to resembling NOS is missing something. Taiwan/China/Malaysia...to me, it's all the same. But the example above is about 10 times better than GBP's offering and probably could pass muster with those not paying attention to the details. It's not like they didn't make a gajillion taillights between 84-88. The 86-88 seem to suffer the worst fates mainly due to fading.

Repopping ain't easy, but you have to do it right or simply don't do it. If I were just piecing together a G-body to drive around or make a nice race car or something, I wouldn't care about the taillight emblems. But if I'm restoring one and want it to look right, those that 88hurstolds received ain't it.

One of the biggest problems with replacing those emblems is getting them out without busting your taillight lens.

Keep in mind this is a failed sample. We needed the red to be a little more crisp on the rocket line edges and also keep in mind this thing is nicked up on the chrome edge from riding in my bag for a year. The production emblem would be better, since it would be automated, not hand created. These were to be run through GBP as a GM restoration piece. With the introduction on the tail lamps for the 84-88 (which I have samples of too, and they are bad *ss.) we were going to introduce this emblem with no studs on the rear, and a choice of you silicone them on, or a thin layer of two side included in the package. It appeared from the factory the emblems were melted into the lens. With their being 2 different style emblems it would not be efficient to stock numerous lights with different emblems. The story is Brian and LKQ could not come to an agreement with neither the lights, or the emblems so I decided to ditch the project entirely. The project now lies in the hands of GBP. Here is a picture of the rear of the emblem. So if you want lights for your cutlass, ask Brian. we have the only sets of reproductions on the planet and they are way too nice to not proceed....just because of an emblem.

I still think the item that was received was a sample and he shipped the wrong one.

more points. I just measured thickness of the emblem pictured above. ..110 metal. .127 total thickness. Our samples were taken from a NOS lamp's emblem. Yup, busted it right out of the light lens....sacrifice.

last one, I dont see where he states they are NOS, I see the confusion where he describes these ORIGINALS were pressed into the backside of the lights. He was stating the original ones were pressed in, they are the samples I would bet, and the new reproductions will be coming out soon.

That is my interpretation
