those burnt wires are one reason I like to use a ford style remote solenoid which only has one battery cable going to the starter. The rest of the wires are away from the heat of the exhaust.
 
It was a pi$$ poor design from the factory; probably had something to do with the bean counters at the time. Those are both power feeds to the ignition switch and the blower high speed relay. There is no reason they have to be attached to the starter; the battery + or the alternator charge post would be more easily accessed as well as less subject to heat (further from the exhaust). I'm certainly no fan of fusible links, also. A couple of 50a maxi fuses or circuit breakers (NON auto reset kind) are how I would do it.
 
Guys will these work? The ones on the car have “16” stamped on them

Picked up 2 16g in-line wires and 2 50 amp fuses. Fingers crossed that this works I’ll keep y’all updated

I would not put a 50 amp fuse on a 16 gauge wire....

Thanks for all the help guys I’m back running! I just ran new wire from the ignition and blower put in 2 new fusible links soldered and heat shrinked (is that a word) everything and she fired right up. Again thanks for the help next up I’ll be replacing my dash and installing Dakota Digital VHX gauges.
