Is it going to matter that both of the breathers are on the same valve cover if I switch one of them to a pcv?
I would definitely move it to the other side. You can then turn your unused breather hole into an oil fill hole and install a cap. You want the PCV system to pull fumes out and across the entire oiling system. If you install it in one side it may only pull across that valve cover. This is gonna sound like crap but, i had so much trouble with my last car with regard to the PCV system and that is how I learned what works best for my particular application. I actually had to install a restrict or fitting in mine because I was sucking up oil and the car would detonate under decel. I had to install a catch can in between the PCV and the intake.
I don't recall any. I just know that talking to an engine builder that raced for years helped me with it and experience coupled with trial an error unfortunately. My own stuff always gave me the biggest fit.Any good reads that you came across that will help?
Yes!!! There is a large front seal and small one! Forgot about that! Make sure you have the right one. Put the pan on with out a gasket and to see how large the gap is and then order your gasket. Some fel pro kits contain both thick and thin.I've run into this problem with my 327 with mr gasket timing cover and summit circle track pan...
would only leak while running, and spray oil everywhere... drove me nuts... finally got fed up, and put the vortec 350 that I pulled out of the car back in, and when I had set the 327 down on the ground to move the hoist, it shifted enough and oil started running out of a gap between the t cover and the pan, where it curves below the front main... going back to a standard cover and pan when the engine goes back into the regal

The pan. Can you get a pocket mirror up there and look and see if you have a gap? You may or may not see one.I ended up having to use the thick fel pro one piece gasket when I assembled it. Did they make the timing covers for thick or thin gaskets? Or is the only difference in the pan?
