well i put 10 40 in it and it seemed to brought my pressure up a bit at idle, not much, but it runs at about 30 cruisin down the highway it doesnt seem to go over 30 unless its cold im assuming thats normal.
I'n not familiar with that motor but I had a Firebird with a pressure relief in the oil pump. It would not go over 30 psi no matter what. I am now using Melling 60 lb pumps and they run 60 cold and 40-60 hot with idle no less than 20-30.
I would agree that there is nothing to worry about with that oil pressure. My oil pressure will drop to 10-15 PSI after I come to an idle after a highway trip. Goes 35-40 PSI while cruising and above 50 PSI when it's running above 3000 RPM
i had a motor that would have like 8psi at idle so instead of rebuilding i had a stroker built. and while waiting for the stroker i used 25w50 with that lucas additive and it would hold 15psi at idle no matter if the engine was cold or at operating temp.
