oil sending unit

Where is the oil sending unit on an 86/Pontiac Grand Prix LE, 305 V8,Is it in the dash or on top of the engine :?:
pics would help if possible.Thanks help is always appreciated.

I don't have a picture but if you open the hood and look down towards your oil filter you'll see the sender with a single wire coming from it. This is what it looks like...

and if you don't see it in that location there is another spot where it could be, just on the driver's side of the distributor at the top rear of the block
