i just noticed how far back the old motor mounts were. i was reading to put the chevy mounts hanging off the front. would that be right
?
yes that is correct

Didn't touch the suspension... since the engine was out I didn't even have to jack it up  Just a long extension to go up through the frame where the lower a-arm bolts up and a swivel. It may be helpful to put some tape around the swivel though so it doesn't flop around too much. It's also much easier using the factory nuts because they have a flange and they won't fall down into the socket. Whatever you do don't drop the nut in the frame though, you'll have a heck of a time getting to it without a magnet or a long enough piece of wire

That's the Olds rejecting the Chevy!

Just kidding. That really does stink.

i almost bought a 67 olds with the 330 and the reason i strayed away from that was that i could not find an aftermarket cam for it. just the olds 350.

The camshafts among Olds engines can all be swapped. If you found one that fit a 350 Olds then it would fit a 330. In fact it would fit a 260/307/330/350/403 SBO as well as 400/425/455 BBO. The only time this doesn't work is if the engine had a 45* camshaft bank angle or the .921" diameter lifters. The more typical is a 39* cam bank angle and .842" lifters.

wow bad juju, I was just thinking "What if he puts the Chevy in and it's slower" ..... sorry to hear about the bearing failure .... still got that 330?
