Old Parts

If my old, replaced parts are broken or proven to not function correctly, in the trash or to recycling they go. Otherwise, I store the good parts in my shed in preparation for the day that Maryland requires all that computer-controlled emissions garbage be put back in place. Or in the case of factory suspension parts and wheels, just in case I ever decide to restore to original, though I can't imagine doing that. But, maybe the next owner would want to do that.
Do you ever go to buds creek?

I suffer from the fear that five minutes after the garbage truck leaves I will need that part. So my garage and basement look like Fred Sanford's place. But what I have done is get rid of anything that belongs to a car I don't own anymore. Thus I have spent the last five years getting rid of all my 2nd gen Firebird parts. Craiglist has been beddy beddy goot to me. I even made some good friends selling because I always toss in extra stuff. Anything that is cross model like alternators and carbs is kept. Stuff I can't sell I take to the scrap yard or just give away. But I am convinced that the Leprechans are sneaking things back at night.

I had 3 years worth of Aluminum cans (22 lbs) and 20 Fluorescent tubes to dispose of (went LED), So I drove to Fort Worth recycle them. The bulb recycling place was uneventful, but the metal recycling place... holy crap it took every once of will power not to sell my house and make them a offer for the entire yard. There was so much good stuff to make stuff out of... maybe after I retire. I just won't tell my wife. I'll tell her I'm a greeter at Walmart.
