Olds 350 heads question/opinion

You just missed his response. I say it is a $100 motor, the most pathetic Olds 350, the minor gain in compression is negated by the awful 3A heads vs the 73 to 76 Olds 350. Flat top pistons, a bowl hog on the exhaust bowl and a better cam and dual exhaust bumps power a lot in those motors and you have a very solid foundation on the 73 to 76 350. The 77 to 80 needs different heads and still has the weaker windowed main webs.
Thanks so much guys. Much appreciated
Maybe i should pass. I dont want to throw a bunch of money into something thats not worth it

It might be a better swap in place of the 307 until even a mid 70's 350 can be found. I wish the trip was made to pick up that pair of 78 to 80 Olds 350, I wouldn't have a 260 in the 88 Cutlass right now. That 350 equals the VIN 9 swirl port 307 H0 in hp and has 25 ft/lbs more torque. That carb is also a very desirable 800 cfm core, they go for near $100 now in good shape.
