Got the back end buttoned up today.

I really wanted to showcase some of the top notch rust repair work I did. hahaha
Pretty sure you can barely see where I cleaned up the rust.

So the engine bay is essentially buttoned up, just the wirig and some final hose routing, air lines for the blow off and wastegate, Nitrous solenoid and some oil and fuel minor stuff... Oh ya, the f'n belt...

So, I can hide an 88/96mm turbo under a stock hood line...

Got the tap I needed to make a bushing for the N2O jet. So I snipped off a brass hose barb from a 3/8NPT thread and tapped it. It turned out pretty nice so I threaded it into the manifold.

Then I got to work getting the mapping and distances all measured out for the engine harness.

I made up the harness map V 1.0. I am pretty happy with version 1 so far. Might add or remove a few things yet so I am going to revisit tomorrow and double check the tune to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I have been in a course this week for work, so I have been restricted to evening tinkering.

Last night I made up bracket for my fuel filter before the external fuel pump. then turned my focus on masking off the inside to get the cage painted.

It isn't pretty, or even really all that effective but it will block the windows, and thats all I care about. lol

Tonight I started laying out the harness and will be finish mapping it out and putting wires together and crimping ends tomorrow.

As of right now I have 4 ECU harnesses, a injector driver harness and an 8 injector harness to make from scratch. The trans harness is made but needs some pins added and the J2A/J2B harnesses needs to be mapped and pinned out for future plans. I need ALL the data!

Managed to knock out the cage painting this weekend. While being drawn away occasionally to be social and whatnot. Found one spot I completely missed a lower 1/3 weld on a non-essential bar. I will be back to that later.

Its not pretty, and I couldn't get a strip on the front down bars where they are too close to the window.... Thinking some kind or wrap or something... Oh well. Already regretting the 1k paint, once you get used to a 2k paint it is just garbage.... Its a 20 footer for SURE, so it will match the rest of the car perfectly.

Between paint coats the battery wiring was put in and fuel lines underneath were restrained. Rear driveshaft loop is in and torqued. cooling system sealed and reverse filled.

Starting a checklist for the home stretch.

Now that you are done painting that jungle gym, you can come over and re-stain my kids'.

You picked a 'hard to keep clean' color.

I have only started to regret my decision. In my head, I thought it would be awesome for it to blend into the body color, be kinda sneaky.... I was wrong, but I can always cover it with something else or wrap it something. It hides really nice on the B pillar so that's not so bad.

Sometimes my ideas and my execution are a little out of alignment.

I would wrap the high contact areas with carbon fiber vinyl.
Seen that done in a lot of street cars and it has come out looking really nice.
