On the 'mildly' Cheap SS Monte Carlo chasing a 9.0___

The list with 11 days to have it on the trailer. It’s all pretty easy except I do t have the axles in hand yet 🙁 0003290F-26B0-4904-807C-8BB322F9203D.jpeg

The converter is almost scratch on that list.

How about some cnc’d goodness? Hopefully this is tuned correctly and it will finish off the job. The circled area of the old converter shows the recent burnt off paint. It was discolored a little previously, but after the last dyno session it got a bunch worse.

But let's be fair about all this... is the 6th item really for the car at this point? 😉

Changing subjects thankfully. There is an almost monthly forum question about crossmembers. I usually comments that it’s not that hard to make one.

This was made out of scraps I’ve had laying around more than 2 years ago. I modified it mildly when I ran the exhaust to exit in front of the rear tire. It’s very easy to install and very friendly for the driveshaft loop.

The last pieces showed up today. I’m finally starting to feel better about being ready.

The last nail biter is wondering where this converter will stall to. Regardless, I’m using it and will have to come up with a work around if I can’t get it to 3800 on the t-brake.

Fitting the engine diaper required me to test my needle and thread skills - I had to put a hole in it for the turbo drain. But I succeeded is all that matters.

One step closer to put it on the trailer.

Obviously it needs a bath. I’m waiting for my overnite stay Friday in NC. Hopefully I’ll be able to convince my kid to detail it while there so that it maintains its proper ‘50 footer’ status haha.

Looking forward to the live feed next week!!

Are you still going to bring a drivetrain and restore one of the heaps here with that transvestite powertrain as previously threatened promised? :devilish:
