RockAuto.com has Powerstop rotor and pad kits (some with calipers) for less than the individual parts themselves. These are the spiffy slotted and drilled rotors, which some Forum members have suggested will crack. Anyone used them on your G and would you buy them again?

From my understanding, drilled and slotted rotors are very old school dating back from the 1920s. Back then pads used to outgas much more when hot than modern pads do, and required holes and slots in the rotors to vent the extra gasses out. The problem is that the holes and slots are stress risers, stress levels around them are 3x higher than on a flat part of the rotor which is why OEMs have moved to plain flat rotors. So yes you can stop quicker but they are also more failure prone, as with most things, it is a mixed bag. The main point being that drilled and slotted rotors are outdated 1920's tech.

There are plenty of great quality brake parts out there but without a doubt there are going to be parts that will fail too. What can I say, You get what you pay for.
