Here' s some numbers pulled from Comp Cams Camquest. I used 10-1 comp, AFR 195 heads, high flow dual plane intake, 750 cfm, small tube headers.

XFI 280 hyd roller cam - 230/236 on 113* LSA - 466h@6000/484t@400 with mufflers. 488/498 open headers.
280HR hyd roller - 224/224 on 110* - 467/491 with mufflers 486/505 open

Using a flat tappet cam ..........

XE268H 224/230/ on 110* - 428/473 with mufflers - 446/486 open
Magnum 280H 230/230 on 110* - 426/463 with mufflers - 446/477 open

You can download CamQuest here for free from CompCams. Play around with differant heads, cams, etc. I don't know how accurate it is but you can compare differant parts.

And that comps cams simulator tend to shoot numbers a bit high fyi.

It's not meant to be a dyno, it's to compare differant cams and combos.

I've seen two engines using the same parts vary in power by 50 - 75 hp. I've also seen engines with less cam and compression put out more power than an engine with more cam and compression. It's all in the combo and tuning, and engine building.
