What I read was that there is a huge "cut the cord" movement because people are fed up with steadily increasing cable costs. I understand that if you are like my relatives in Lower Bumfvck then you have no choice. But I have around 100 channels here for free in the NY metro area. Worse, our local cable is pathetic and so loaded with commercials I feel they should pay US to watch. They don't even give you the free OTA channels with the basic package. You pay extra for that and even then you don't get the various sub-channels. So right now I have two old school aluminum UHF antennas up in the attic with two TV sets on each. I am getting pretty good reception with only channel 11 and 13 acting up. But those big old guys are a obtrusive and I need something smaller. I just ordered the Eagle Aspen from Home Dupa and if it works I will get one for each set. They had it for only $17.66 but some places wanted $35 and more. It should fit under the attic eaves. 1611414967294.png

My Dad has always been about the Amplifier.

Back in the 1970's he had an Amplifier on CB radio that he said gave it a "50 mile range". All we knew from back seat is truckers would flip him off if he passed them while transmitting.

Just last year, the Verizon guy showed up at his house and asked him if he had some sort of amplifier turned on. He put one in the attic because he was having poor phone service in his house. The Verizon guy said he was taking out everyone's phone service for a 1/2 mile diameter around his house.

You guys would know - Did they take Comet TV off the air? I watched Battlestar Galactica front to back twice, then late last year I couldn't get the channel any more so I hooked my laptop to my TV and forgot about OTA.
Pretty sure its still running, but I've noticed stations play a lot of games with those subchannels and switch them around a lot. I Want to say its on Pluto.tv and i.e. my Samsung has a bunch of free internet channels and its in there, too... but I could be remembering wrong.

When I couldn't get it OTA, I checked Pluto and it wasn't there. Seems like a perfect channel for Pluto.

I think the humidity has more to do with it than temp. I could be wrong, but that’s been my experience. Probably a factor of low humidity means high visibility and very few clouds (usually).

With this digital signal weather is definitely a factor. Remember listening to AM radio and the approaching thunderstom gave itself away with crackling sounds from lightning? The TV pixilates when rain clouds are between you and the transmitter.
