Out of Time

Check out instrument services. I had them recondition the clock for my dad's 62 Galaxie, which included converting it to a much more reliable quartz conversion. It was a good experience. I don't know if the clocks in our cars were quartz already or not. Mine still runs in my car, which surprised me, but the mechanism to adjust the time is broken.

If you don't find a working replacement or if you just want your clock fixed, Instrument Services is who I would use.

I already got a reply from them, it's $130 plus shipping and handling to have it repaired and to clean up the housing and cover. With the exchange and shipping I'm looking at at least $200 so I think I'll see what my other options are. Their price is good if you have a showroom quality car which mine isn't by a long shot.

I was just looking in the wrong place. Can you read it from the driver's side?

yes I can and it kept really good time so it was my main source of the time when driving so I miss it. I emailed the company back and let them know my car is going away in the winter, if the exchange rates changes and I don't come up with one I'll send it to them. They said it takes 1-2 weeks. I mentioned to them that I was recommended to contact them from you on Gbody forum. If GP403 gets a multi million advertising contract with them I hope he remembers us...😎

Maybe somebody has one. I'm guessing they are kinda rare. I will rely on the clock in my aftermarket head unit/radio.

Hey Steve, If I read my parts manual correctly, your clock is part number 1247219 listed for 78-81 A-G clock digital. Hope this helps

soooooooo, I got around to looking at the clock today, removed it and found the ground and the power wire had been pulled off. Plugged the wires back in and voila, it works...sorry about wasting everyone's time so I'll take a 5 minute time out in the corner...🙁

Great news! I love those easy fixes!

Glad to see you got your clock fixed. I do the same thing when something goes wrong with one of my vehicles. I plan for the worst right off the bat. Lol. I want to know that I can get a part if I need it. I hate when I can't find the right part. I love those easy fixes though. They bring their own kind of emotion. It's like relief mixed with joy. Or at least that's what I feel.
