im pretty sure he will be wanting a clear coat. trust me. i have a crappy macco job on my car without a clearcoat and it sucks. the paint itself doesnt look bad and it is plenty glossy. but it is terrible to keep clean. water leaves tons of marks and wax doesn't help at all.

What paint did he use? They sometimes have a valspar paint that is a maintnence enamel that can be used with a hardener to increase durability.

Also you can get cheap auto paint from some parts stores. Duplicolor has a professional line that is often found at parts stores. It's about $35 a gallon and works pretty well.

For a few more $ you can use a Kirker paint which is a very good quality paint and available in enamel and urethane. The urethane is actually cheaper in most cases. Both can be clear coated.

They also have an additive to turn the acryl-glo (enamel) into a base coat that can be clear coated in a short amount of time.

The best prices I have found on paint and supplies are at www.smartshoppersinc.com
