Last Tuesday I ordered a set of clutch pedal bushings and a clutch pedal swing arm for my Ford pickup from a local Ford dealership (I won't say which one, all I'll say is they are on Rt. 50). I was told they would take an extra day to come in, but they could get the parts. Wednesday evening I decided to pull the pedal assembly and get it apart and on the bench so when the parts arrived the next morning I'd be ready to go.

Thursday morning comes and goes, and.they never called. So around 1 o'clock, I called and asked if the parts had come in yet. The guy on the telephone tells me the order never got submitted. Now I'm irritated, but I had the guy re-order the parts, and he tells me 2 business days, so now I won't get them until Monday.

I impatiently waited through the weekend, (my truck not driveable as I pulled the pedal assembly) Monday morning comes and goes, and no call. So once again I call around 1:00 and ask if the parts had come in. They inform me that because the order didn't get submitted until the end of the day, it would be an extra day, so it will be here tomorrow. (Since when is 1:00 the end of the day?) Now I'm pissed off. But okay, it is what it is.

Tuesday morning comes and I call at 9:00 to see if the parts had come in. The guy says "Well they were supposed to be here on a truck this morning, but it never showed up, call back later." So I called back later. Still don't have the parts in.

So I call Wednesday morning. I get a new explanation. "Ford switched trucking companies on us so everything has been a day or two late." I said "A day or two? I ordered these over a week ago!" "Well it's out of my control, I can't do anything", he says. I asked when will they be in? He said "I don't know but I'd guess Friday morning." Friday morning?!?! Wtf?!

Well I called this morning, and dammit they still were not in. And guess what? Holiday weekend! So I won't be able to get them until Tuesday! I was barely able to keep it together over the phone and not blow up and start screaming at the guy. However my thoughts were something along the lines of-

SUNUVAMUTHER****INBITCH!!!!!! :soapbox:

So I haven't driven the truck since Tuesday and I'm am so pissed off at a certain Ford dealership. Also, they haven't apologized for the inconvenience or their ****-up of not ordering the parts the first time. And I've ordered probably $1000 or so worth of parts for my truck from.this dealership, so they've made some money off of me. But because I don't believe a ****ing thing this dealership says at this point, I went ahead this morning and ordered the same parts at a different dealership, and they said they would have them by middle of next week. I should've done that a lot sooner. I'm pretty pissed off I won't be able to use my truck over memorial day weekend.

There are no words for a screw up like that, there is so many people these days that don't give a fuc about anyone else. You probably interrupted his game on his smart phone or he has a marijuana license which he over indulges in and has fried his memory.

I understand the rant and your frustration but by removing the parts before you have replacements you kind of set yourself up for this. IMO

Usually talking to the manager, in person, in front of waiting customers, resloves this kind of thing.

I typically don't remove parts until the new ones are in hand, but the truck was already really difficult to drive smoothly as bad as the bushings were, so it wasn't a big deal at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 now.

If the dealership had just done their ****ing job like they were supposed to it wouldn't have mattered.

That's why I have no guilt ordering from RockAuto or anyone else online. Used to be if you needed it yesterday the stealership or local parts store had it and you didn't mind paying full cost. But now you get the "we can get it" drill because they don't want to stock stuff anymore. Well, I can "get it" too! And faster! It irritates me that on the one hand they b*tch that you buy online but then when you do want to buy from them they don't have it. Or you wait forever for it at full price.

Shame McCrackin closed, they were spot on for getting parts. Not sure of the service of they guys in Wexford but they might be a better place to get your parts. If Ford is like GM, they own the trucks moving parts.

I worked as a parts manager at a Ford dealership, You've been straight out lied to for days now. Call the store, ask for the general manager and demand a full explanation. But... Like others have said you shouldn't have pulled it apart until you had the parts.

McCrackin was great, they were only minutes away from me, too. The other dealership I ordered from is Shults in Wexford. I haven't used them before, so we'll see how it goes. At any rate I will never order from the dealership in Heidelberg again.
