I wouldn't be able to just throw in a used rear end unless I knew the full history. I would end up having to rebuilding first. That's just me. $2,000 plus rebuild sounds like QP 9" to me.
Might be the only one left. My friend bought an 85 GN after I bought my 85 442, and instead of just throwing in gears in his, he bought a complete 3.73 rear end and had it swapped out at the dealership because he wanted 3.73 instead of 3.42. Crazy sumbich. But it turned his GN into a stoplight to stoplight monster. He couldn't get traction at all after that.This may be the only one, like new, in the world.
