I’m looking at pass side alternator mounts for my 2001 LS1 swap and I’m seeing 2 options ICT and dirty dingo. Looking at the 2 the difference I see is the ICT uses and idler pulley and the DD does not. What are your thoughts on this, is the idler pulley necessary ? The price difference between the 2 is only $20 so I’m not leaning more towards one based on the price. I do think the DD looks a little cleaner without the idler pulley so if it’s really not needed I’ll probably go that route just based off the looks.

The reason the idler is used on that one is because the tensioner is longer. That being said, that Dirty Dingo one makes me wonder how the belt goes on and off.. no room to move the tensioner.

I see your thinking maybe this pic gives a little more clarity, even tho I didn’t notice it until you said something. I think it’s just a bad angle.

I use the ICT with no problems. Quality unit.

ICT belt routing looks better (from a performance, not aesthetic perspective). I don't like how how close the belt is to itself between the alternator and the water pump. I think the ICT is a more sound design.
