I'm sure this has been asked a few times, but what is the pinion angle needed for our G-Body cars, more specefically a 1984 Monte Carlo with a 12 bolt rear?? I bought my 12 bolt swap kit from UMI Performance and I was told that the angle would be set when the kit arrives. After putting new rear shocks in today I'm thinking that the angle is off as the shock bolts aren't a straight through fit.......

IIRC 4-links are about 4* so far as i know the type of rear doesn't matter to the angle.

for a 4 link it's 1* to 2.5*....you might want want to set it at 2.5* to 3* because you head to the drag strip.....

We do preset the upper control arms. However when doing this swap things are going to vary some. But they are preset to have equal adjustment each way as well.

We recommend -2 degrees of pinion angle but the shock may always be in a little bind with that rear end.

I hope that helps,
Ryan
